Japan Earthquake 2012

A strong earthquake has struck Japan on New Year's Day January 1, 2012. The quake has struck near an island named torishima in the Pacific Ocean. Only about 400 miles south of Tokyo and the epicenter was about 225 miles below the sea, reports the meteorological agency.

Building shook in Tokyo but no injuries have yet been reported trains in central Japan have been suspended as of the time of this report. But have yet since resumed on for business.

Let us not forget the tsunami that hit in March of 2011, which claimed the lives of somewhere around 20,000 people or of who had come up missing. Please checks back a later date for a more in-depth report on the Japan that struck in 2012.
